Glossybox Review - October

Thursday, October 31, 2013
I just received my Glossybox in the mail yesterday, yes the October box, they are not great about shipping quickly, but the items are generally full-sized or a luxury item that is a good sample size. This months box was probably my favorite of the bunch, it included products I would actually use/buy myself. It valued, I'd say about $75.00 when you calculate out the samples size costs, which is great because the box actually costs $21.00/month.

The packing is always nice, even the shipping box. Once you open up the box, you'll find another box with all your goodies wrapped up nicely. I don't care too much for the confetti, but I understand it's to help keep the items from banging around.

See the review of each item below.

This box included 5 items:

Balance Me, Shine on lip slave, full-size value $16.50 USD. I noticed this was a UK brand, so it'll be a bit more difficult purchasing in the U.S. I did like this, the color was great, I got Super Soft Beige, and it tasted great. What I liked about it, is that it wasn't too glossy like others I've tried before, it just looked natural and was quite moisturizing.

BVLGARI Eau Parfumée au thé vert' Eau de Cologne, sample size 0.17 fl.oz., full sized 2.5 oz value $85.00. Now, I really don't like receiving perfumes in boxes as I think it's a very personal thing and not everyone likes the same smells. Additionally, I am particularly picky about what fragrance I wear because I get migraines like none other from a too strong smell, like this one, I literally can smell it from a mile away and I run in the other direction. Back to this Parfumée, the description is Green tea cologne (for men and women). Fresh and Mediterranean. Notes of citrus, jasmine and rose open to release the green tea scent, giving one a truly refreshing feeling. It just isn't my cup of tea.

FRESHLotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex, sample size of 0.5 oz, full sized 1.7 oz. value $42.00. I love fresh products and I was excited to get this in the box. I am addicted to their Sugar Lip Treatments, my favorite is sheer berry rose, and I think I'm going to be addicted to this face cream. I just opened it and it smelled like cucumbers and just so fresh, pun intended.

Renu Exfoliating Gel by Sesha Skin Therapy, sample size of 20 ml, full sized 1.7 oz value $42.00. The description on the back is that is a papaya enzyme gel that non-aggressively removes dead cells and unclogs pores. You rub it on your face in a circular motion and it "beads" up hence removing dead skin. Much like papayas themselves, the smell wasn't that great, but the results were good. My skin feels softer and looks brighter to me. I've only used it once and I'll go with the recommended up to two times per week and see if it makes a difference.

TarteLights, Camera, Flashes™ Statement Mascara, full sized value at $23.00. This was probably my favorite item in the box. It's the first mascara I've received with directions since it has a special brush. First, the shorter, denser side of the brush delivers the optimal amount of mascara to volumize and coat each lash perfectly. Then the longer, firmer side lengthens and separates for maximum volume without clumping. I'm always looking for great volumizing mascaras and look forward to trying this out.
