Glossybox Review

Wednesday, September 25, 2013
I think I'm addicted to monthly subscription boxes, I suppose I love the thrill of getting surprises in the mail. It's also a great way to try out stuff you normally wouldn't buy for yourself.

The latest subscription service I joined was Glossybox. I liked it because it offered a 3 month option, which is enough to try out a service to see if you really like it without having to commit for the whole year. At the time, I found a coupon code online and the 3 months cost me $51.00, or about $17/mo for the 3 months. It did take a while for the box to arrive; I ordered it August 26th and received the August box mid-September. I thought I would've received the September box first, but a las, my first box was the August box in September. On another note, I just received the September Glossybox today, September 25th, review on that later.

I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely packaging. I love things that look pretty.
Open it up, and there's an even prettier pink box inside. It also included a denim makeup bag by Guess, which is just your standard "free" gift bag, nothing too special.
They do wrap up their products nicely, so I appreciate the effort there.

My Glossybox included:

Novex - Brazilian Keratin Hair Care Treatment Cream. I haven't tried it out yet, but it smells nice. I don't think I would regularly use this product though.

Jelly Pong Pong - Lip Blush. I did like this, it was quite moisturizing and the color was nice. It lasted as long as I expected it to, about an hour or two.

Sue Devitt - Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder. I was happy to have received this because I had just finished my regular pressed powder. I liked it. It was sheer and not cakey and it has a nice smell.

Anatomicals - Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz. I'm a little indifferent towards facial sprays; I generally don't buy them nor use them, however, since this came in the Glossybox, I gave it a try. It's just ok for me. It has a lavender like smell, I'm just not into things have smells because I'm sensitive to some smells. This one was ok, I just didn't really crave it. The spray itself is ok, feels alright on the face, just not for me.

Pandora's Makeup Box - Nail Polish. I liked this nail polish. The color lasted a little more than a week without chipping. I did like the fact this nail polish is 5-free, meaning no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, or toulene. I may consider buying this brand in the future.

Overall, I liked the box and the products they included were nearly full sized.
