Wee, The Happiest place on earth

Monday, June 10, 2013
The hubby and I took a trip for our anniversary to The Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyworld. We were both so excited about this trip and I was more excited for my husband because he had never been to any of the Disney parks, whereas I've been a couple of times.

So what does one pack for a 3 day trip to theme parks? Comfortable yet stylish clothes. When I pack, I like to think of my days in outfits and mixing and matching to get the most use out of my clothes while saving space.

Below are the items I've packed for our trip, plus a pair of Tom's. For jewelry I like to keep it simple with just one piece, especially for theme parks, who needs a bauble necklace on a roller coaster?

Theme Park Tips:
  • You will be doing a great deal of walking, think comfortable shoes. Don't wear those flip flops, you'll regret it at the end of the day.  Wear tennis shoes, hey you're a tourist at a theme park, or if you want to be more stylish, grab a pair of Tom's (I wore Tom's to Disneyland last week, and after hour 6, I wished I had tennis shoes).
  • Wear cotton, it's HOT in the summer. Try to stray away from clingy fabrics, especially if you're visiting the Orlando theme parks because of humidity, you'll feel drenched in your clothes.
  • It's wise to take a small cross body bag with easy access pockets. They generally fit in the small pockets in roller coasters, plus it's hands free!
  • Most parks allow taking in drinks/food; check the policies for various parks. If they do allow it, try to freeze some bottled water the night before your visit and pack it with you. You might only take 1 or 2 bottles, but you'll be glad you did. Also pack some snacks, nuts and granola bars are great for in between meals.
  • Sunscreen! Most people forget it and end up buying it over-priced inside the parks. Apply before you go and re-apply later, don't want to get burned or a funky tan like me and my sister.
  • Pack a poncho. They are about $3.00 at most drugstores whereas inside the parks they run about $10.00. It's a piece of plastic you'll most likely never use again, save your money and be prepared just incase it rains.
  • Don't forget your camera. I love taking pictures, so I like to have a real camera in addition to my iPhone. Real cameras are much better at low-light and have more features, you'll appreciate the quality when you make an album, if you're in to that.
  • HAVE FUN!!! I love theme parks, I used to go to Astroworld (equivalent of Six Flags) every week in the summertime when I was younger. We'd go to the waterpark first,  it's HOT, then dry off on roller coasters and other rides. I absolutely loved it.
